About Us: The Point Pleasant Borough
Fire Co. #1 was organized on August 4, 1920, when eleven members elected
John Miller as their first Fire Chief and Al Holman the first President. The
Fire Co. responded as a mutual aid company to one of the most famous fires
in U.S. History, the Hindenburg disaster on May 6, 1937. Today the Point
Pleasant Volunteer Fire Co. # 1 is a non-profit volunteer organization that
provide 24-hour Fire and Rescue Service to residents of Point Pleasant and
the general public at "NO CHARGE".

Point Pleasant offers many beautiful open
recreational areas for swimming, playing, swinging, jogging,
rollerblading, and just plain enjoying.
Point Pleasant Community
Park: Bridge Avenue.
This newly built facility
offers a long walking and bike path, a baseball field, and a soccer field.
Picnic tables, swing sets, and jungle gyms are great places for kids to
spend Spring and Summer days. A large clock, donated by the Boro Rotary Club, stands tall as the center to this
visually stunning natural environment.
Beaver Dam Creek
County Park:
Bridge Avenue
Tennis courts, a boardwalk through the wetlands, picnic tables, and an open
field makes this the perfect place to relax, exercise and enjoy the day.
Many local club sports are played in this park's large soccer fields.
Recreation Center:
River Avenue Offers
a Large Playground in addition to several smaller pieces of play equipment.
Basketball Courts are available outside as well as inside. The inside
court is mostly used to run the many programs offered here. Outside
Tennis Courts are also located at this facility. A picnic area is
available, as are restrooms.
McKennan Lake Field: Rt. 88 A
large baseball field that mostly hosts the local Soccer and Little League
T-ball, and Baseball Organizations.
Heritage Park:
Howe Street Right
at the Base of the Loveland Town Bridge, this facility offers outdoor
Basketball courts, a picnic area, and a playground with a beautiful view of
the River and passing boats.
Beaches & Badges
River Avenue Beach:
River Avenue Located one block West of Maxson Avenue,
also on the Manasquan River. Offers a Beach, playground and Picnic area.
Restrooms available when the Lifeguards are on duty. Admission required
during the Beach season. Large Swimming area available, large parking area.
Maxson Avenue Beach:
Maxson Avenue A municipal Beach on the Manasquan River.
Located next to the Hospital at the end of Maxson Avenue. Offers a Beach,
playground including Handicapped facilities, a Fishing Pier and a
Handicapped accessible Walkway. Shade available on the walkway to view the
River. Restrooms available when the Lifeguards are on duty. Admission is
required during the Beach Season. The Maxson Avenue beach's fishing
pier is free for those with seasonal badges, for all others there is a $1.00
fee.
