Wind power company announces preparations for N.J. offshore farm Print E-mail

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. -- The Department of the Interior has given Bluewater Wind approval to build a weather testing station off Rehoboth Beach.

Bluewater Wind announced today that it has approval to build two meteorological towers off Rehoboth Beach, Del. and New Jersey's coast. Company President Peter Mandelstam said two other towers were approved for other developers in New Jersey, but no information was immediately available on the locations of the projects.

 An April photo of the Atlantic City wind farm. Bluewater Wind announced today that it has approval to build two meteorological towers off Rehoboth Beach in Delaware and New Jersey's coast, in preperation to build an offshore wind farm.

Mandelstam said building the weather station allows the company to prepare for construction of an offshore wind farm. He said Bluewater will be able to map weather patterns for the farm's location.
